New jewelry with thoughts of the ocean

I have been enjoying the summer and notice that many of my pieces created during summer have a real beach/ocean feel.


This bracelet is reminds me of frothy ocean waves in clear blue water:





I made this necklace surrounding this awesome canvas on wood pendant with surf artwork by Chris Pedersen. I just love it! I want every one of these wooden pendants I found when searching for beads.







The only down side to living in the beautiful Sierras is how much I miss the ocean!

2009 4th of July Ventura Street Festival - Item stolen

This year's Ventura 4th of July Street Fair was a great success (although quite windy)! However, I was so very disappointed to find that a precious piece of jewelry was stolen from my booth. This was a handwired vintage-style flower brooch which took an entire day or two to create.

Handwoven wisteria vine necklace

Made this wisteria vine necklace ~ looks just like the beautiful wisteria flowers blooming in my backyard - one of my many favorite flowers! Used quite a few strands of Czech glass beads for this necklace, probably close to 20 strands.

Craft sale this weekend postponed until next month!

Precious beads on Julia Bristow necklace!

I have made my first necklace including a beautiful strand of precious beads ~ Rubies! As this is my first necklace made with precious gemstone beads, it features another awesome Harold Cooney hollow glass centerpiece. I will be adding to my website shortly. I also have some emeralds just waiting for something special...

So many new items added to website!

I was finally able to enjoy creating many new pieces with the beads and beautiful pendants gathered over the last year. I made many with handblown glass beads and polymer clay flowers, by very talented glass and bead artists including Harold Cooney, Warren Newbery, Anastasia, JB Glass Designs, Sarah Hornik, Cornelia Lentze, Zuda Gay & Lilly Pilly Designs and more. Pretty Handwoven grape cluster necklace added today!

I was finally able to complete this necklace I had been thinking about for months! Charms are entirely handwoven with Czech glass leaves and grapes. I used 12 strands of glass leaves on this one!

On another note, I am excited my website has reached over 40,000 site visits!

Autumn Leaves necklace completed!

I completed my "Autumn Leaves" necklace which looks very much like the beautiful tree outside my window changing from green to reds, oranges and yellows. This necklace has over 19 strands of Czech glass leaves and flowers!

Photo overhaul on website

Oh my! I recently realized I have a new quality photo editing program which allows me to edit and brighten my photos. I was utterly embarrassed as I went through and edited the terribly dark photos on my website. Most are now bright and beautiful as I did the editing that was not possible on my prior photo editing program. It was just painful to see all of those photos that had been viewed so many times on my website for so long in that condition. We learn as we go along! If only I had an assistant employed for these kinds of things...

Added a new cancer awareness piece!

I just finished adding a new dusty rose garden beaded charm bracelet with breast cancer awareness ribbon to my site here where 50% of proceeds are donated to National Breast Cancer Foundation. I have a few more things in the works to be added to the page soon. Trying to hurry before October ends, but don't worry, I will always donate 50% any time of the year for this cause.

Finally ! Added a bunch of newly made items to my site!

I was finally able to create some new jewelry to add to my website. I have been so busy with shows and special orders that I have not had the time to make any of the ideas I had so patiently waiting for me to make in little plastic containers all over my workplace. I was finally able to set aside some time for creating these items and I am excited to say that they are now on the site here! There are many new beaded bracelets and gorgeous multistrand necklaces!

The music of talented surfer, artist, musician, singer/songwriter, Brandon Bristow, the creator of the commercial advertisement and music for Nature's Presence Collection, has been featured in two new surf film releases: "Live, A Music and Surfing Experience" a David Parsa Production featuring Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater, Tom Curren, Jackson Browne, Greg Noll, etc..., and "Longboard Habit" a Burnt Toast/Katz Eye Production. Brandon also provided some film footage for the movie "Live" and performed on stage for the premier showing of "Live" on September 10, 2008

Brandon also provided much of the music for the Josh Pomer/David Parsa film "Absolute Mexico as well as performing for world premier of "Absolute Mexico" in Santa Barbara, California, April 19, 2008.

More fruity summer fun jewelry!

There was a huge, great response to my fruit jewelry. I sold so many fruit items including some new casual versions of my fruit necklaces and pairs of earrings that are not listed on my website at this 4th of July sale that I decided to add some of these items to my website. I even added a couple of rings as well! Check them out! The rings were for fun and I may add some sterling and gold filled versions soon, if anyone is interested. I will be adding more earrings and casual necklaces in the days to come. I was so happy to see so many people interestsed in my fruit jewelry ~ as I do enjoy making it!

I added a sparkling multistrand pink necklace to my breast cancer awareness page ~ 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this necklace is donated directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Overhaul on my website!

Wow! I spent the entire day today adding a few new jewelry items to my site and giving my website a new look. I was tired of the pink and needed something new! I am exhausted! So if you see any pink pages, refresh your screen. I really like the new look, a little more relaxing to the eyes.

Added some really neat pieces as well. A really long forest-type necklace with really nice peyote stitch wrapping around the back of the necklace:

Changed the name: Purple Robe Locust seems more fitting!

Well, I hate to say it, but I have decided the necklace is more a perfect match to the beautiful "Purple Robe Locust" tree and I am changing the name! Wisteria and Locust trees are two of my favorites. Although the flowers are similar, I realize this necklace matches the tree perfectly. I thought I would show it side-by-side so you can see how closely I tried to match the look, since I love those clusters of flowers so! Even the bark of the tree matches perfectly!




Some purple robe trees have even lighter flowers like this one

Wouldn't you agree this is a more fitting name?

Next I think it will be fun to work on a wisteria one to match the more violet shade of the wisteria flowers.

I just had to mention this beautiful bracelet I found today ~ not only because the name of the piece I am naturally drawn to ("Sun and Waves bracelet"), but I am also attracted to her jewelry in that she seems to always use just an awesome variety of beautiful gemstones and wire-wrapping techniques to make very unique pieces of jewelry. Designers4Africa created by jewelry designer April Star Davis is a great way for designers to help raise money to build wells in Sudan. So far, I have been able to donate two pieces to an auction in held in March. Hopefully, many other designers will join this cause! It is a simple way to help give much needed assistance to people who need it.

We just completed the photo shoot of my new collection and I have to say the photos turned out just awesome! I am so excited to show this collection. These pieces are definitely something special. And the photos are spectacular! Collection coming soon....

Oh my God...

Is what I said when I opened the recently purchased hand-made lampwork beads from Ms. Molly Cooley of Inner Eye Creations. I could not believe my eyes. These beads are magnificent tiny little pieces of art. It was money very well-spent. They are absolutely beautiful.

Sorry friends, but I am afraid these beads will be used on necklaces for my own personal collection!

Wisteria Necklace & Earrings Set!

Today I made this pretty handwoven wisteria necklace to match the beautiful blooming wisteria I have so patiently waited for all winter long. This is one of my favorite flowers and I just loved making this!
